Avoiding Manufacturing Problems

After I graduated from college, I started working in my parent's factory. They put me in a management position, and I realized that with that responsibility came a great burden to make the company better. I started realizing that manufacturing problems were eating away at our profits, so I did what I could to make things right. Little by little, I was able to completely revamp the entire process, and before we knew it, the factory was productive and wonderful again. This blog is all about avoiding manufacturing problems so that you can enjoy a great bottom line financially and continued success.

How to Detect Industrial Air Compressor Problems

Have you been unable to figure out what caused your industrial air compressor to stop functioning as it should? You must keep in mind that the problem can be directly or indirectly related to the air compressor. Changes may need to be made in the warehouse, or you might simply need to invest in a new part for the air compressor. In this article, a few of the common problems will be pinpointed based on the specific things that have gone wrong with the air compressor.

The Compressor Has Stopped Working Altogether

When an air compressor stops working altogether, the most obvious problem would be that it is simply worn out. However, your compressor might actually still be in very good shape. Before spending money to replace the air compressor, you might want to take a look at the electrical panel in your warehouse. It is possible that the only thing causing the problem is a tripped circuit breaker. In such a case, turning the breaker on might resolve the problem by sending electricity to the air compressor so it can work.

Overheating Happens When the Compressor Is Used

The worst thing about an air compressor that overheats is an increased risk of your warehouse catching on fire. Resolving the problem in a timely manner is the best thing for you to do. Overheating can stem from the motor being worn out. If there is bad wiring in the compressor, it can also lead to overheating. Keep in mind that the temperature in your warehouse affects the air compressor as well, so make sure there is enough cool air flowing throughout the facility.

The Compressor Has Become Quieter Than Usual

An air compressor can become quieter than usual when there is an insufficient amount of oil in it. The oil is needed to keep the motor functioning as it should. When a motor does not receive an adequate amount of oil, it can wear down in an untimely manner. A quiet motor often needs to be replaced.

Not Much Air Flows from the Compressor

Air flow problems point to there being something wrong with the check valve on the compressor. Basically, a check valve determines the level of air that is moved from one side to another. The valve is also needed to prevent air from flowing back to the direction that it comes from. It is possible that you need to invest in a new check valve to resolve the problem. Talk to a business like Monumental Supply Company about replacement valves and get your air compressor running like it should again.
